3373171 - Error appearing when system tries to propose the next possible project ID

In the 'Project Control - Enterprise Projects' app, the below error message appears when the system tries to propose the next possible project ID when high volumes of projects starting with similar long prefixes and project IDs exist in the system: "At the moment we can’t save or autosave".

1. Go to the app "Project Control - Enterprise Projects".
2. Create a new project.
3. Enter a prefix in the field Project ID and the error appears.

• The underlying cause of this issue is that when creating a new project, the system takes a long time to loop through the IDs to propose the next sequential ID if there is a high volume of projects or WBS elements with their IDs starting with a given prefix.
• This can result in the screen not responding and potentially throwing an error message. If, for example, you enter M in the Project ID, the system may propose M4YG4135015252 as the next sequential ID that does not exist in the DB. However, if it does exist, the system will continue looping until it finds the next available ID.

1. To overcome this lock situation the user can either enter the complete project ID in one go, or use a prefix followed by alphanumeric characters other than long prefix that is already used.
2. For example, if M4YG4135015252 is the sequence that is used then it is recommended to use a different prefix such as MA followed by the desired characters.
