3373330 - How to fix Geo Map display in a responsive page when zooming in and out in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) & SAP Digital Boardroom

Symptom

The following behavior occurs in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC):

  • You are using browser zoom out when on a standard responsive story page where Geo Maps are used.
  • You would like this widget to stay immobilized when zooming, however on a responsive page the geo map will zoom in and out accordingly.
  • The same does not happen on canvas page.

Environment

SAP Analytics Cloud Version 2023.16.4

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Log on to SAC.
  2. Access affected story.
  3. Navigate to responsive page with geo maps.
  4. Zoom out in the window via browser option.
  5. Notice the maps are also zooming out, expanding the view on a bigger scale of the region/continent.

Cause

  • SAP generally does not support using browser zoom
  • This is by-design behavior for classic story design. 

Resolution

Apply the same workflow in an optimized design experience story, where you can achieve the geo map visuals to stay fixed.
