3374509 - Endless loading while defining Data Access Filter using the search option in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)


  • When defining Data Access Filter for the model in question, the value selection window will freeze upon using the search functionality.
  • The only way to avoid the time out of the page is not to use the search bar and instead manually search for the desired member.
  • In the network traces the following logs can be found:

    : {code: "GENERIC_ERROR",…} 
    message: "[Application Error]:Cannot read properties of null (reading 'toUpperCase')"

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open Security->Roles menu.
  2. Select one of the Roles.
  3. Select model or add new one.
  4. Edit Read Access for model.
  5. Use of the value help finder for "Value" field.
  6. Use the search bar to type into the search textbox.
  7. Notice loading indicator and that the page have to be refreshed as no other input can be given.
  8. The only way to avoid the timeout is to manually look through the pages and find the desired member. Using the search bar will trigger the issue.
