3374620 - Data point comments based on the BW/BPC live connection can be edited by other users in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

The following behavior occurs in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC):

• You are using a BW live or BPC live connection
• User A adds a data point comment
• User B can edit/overwrite the data point comment added by user A

• SAP Analytics Cloud (Enterprise) 2023.Q2 and higher

1. Open an SAC story.
2. Open an existing data point comment dialog added by other users by choosing the wedge in the data cell
3. Select the pencil icon (Edit Comment), enter your comment in the comment editor
4. Select Save to submit the comment.
5. The new comment is displayed and the old comment is not there anymore.

Although it looks like that the existing comment is overwritten, what really happens is that user B creates a new version of the comment.

The old version of the comment added by user A is untouched and can be seen from the history.

To show the history of a comment, choose the wedge in the data cell and select the clock icon (Show/Hide History) on the right upper corner of the data point comment dialog.

The comment history will be shown below as a list of previous comments in chronological order, with the most recent comment placed at the top. To hide the history, select the clock icon (Show/Hide History) again.
