Environment

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Navigate to Import Foundation Data;
  2. Click on "Download a blank CSV template" > Select the Foundation Object type;
  3. Fill the necessary fields and insert either "active" or "inactive" in "status" (depending what's the current status of the FOO) > Save;
  4. Go back to Import Foundation Data;
  5. Select the Foundation Object type > Incremental or Full Purge mode > Choose file;
  6. Click on Validate Import File Data > Check there's no errors;
  7. Click on Import;
  8. Import file is uploaded successfully;
  9. Navigate to Manage Organization, Pay and Job Structures;
  10. Select the Foundation Object type and the respective FOO;
  11. Check the status has not changed.

Cause

The Start Date inserted in the import file is a date which the FOO was with its previously status yet and on this time range there's one or more users assigned to this Foundation Object.

Resolution

Insert as "Start Date" in import file a date which is after the effective date of the FOO last record.

To check if there are users assigned to the FOO, you can pull a Person and Employment Export report: KBA 2080162 - Employee Central - Ad-Hoc Report Types & Permissions Explained - SAP for Me.
