3375738 - The BW variable is not updated when you open an existing data analyzer insight in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

The BW variable is calculated correctly when creating a new Analyzer.

However, when opening a saved Analyzer, the variable isn't recalculated. It just shows the values from when it was saved.

This issue happens with the BW live connection.

• SAP Analytics Cloud (Enterprise)

1. Open an existing data analyzer insight.
2. The variable shows the old value when this insight was saved.
3. Create a new data analyzer insight for the same BW query.
4. The variable shows the expected value, which is different from the value in step 2.

BW doesn't export the information that the variable has an exit so SAC cannot handle it as such.
On the other hand, SAC cannot just treat any input-disabled variable as it would have an exit, because that would lead to other customers suddenly seeing filters changing and could consider it as an error.

There are two possible solutions:

• Please configure the variable as being input-enabled. Then BW will export the information and SAC can act upon it.
• If the variable should stay as input-disabled, the necessary development on BW and SAC needs to be done. In this case, please create an enhancement request, following KBA 2424376 - How do you create an enhancement request for SAP Analytics Cloud?
