3375892 - The goal name field on the PM report is different from the goal name on the performance review form - Performance Management

Symptom

The goal name field on the PM report is different from the goal name on the performance review form.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Performance & Goals

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Auto-Sync enabled in form template.
  2. Form A and Form B are launched for one user using the same performance review template. Both forms are in-progress.
  3. Change a goal's name on form A.
  4. Go to reporting.
  5. The goal name on form A is updated, but the same goal on form B is showing the original name.

Cause

This is expected behavior if you are using legacy goal management.

The data of goal name field on the report is taken from form content.
When using legacy goal management, the change made to a goal name on the form isn't automatically synchronized with all the other forms that are associated with the same goal plan. Only when you open the other forms will the system trigger synchronization between the new goal name and the form content.

Resolution

Solution 1: Open the form that contains the same goal whose name has been changed in another form. This will trigger the new goal name to be synced to the form content.
The report will then show the synced goal name.

Solution 2: Make changes directly via goal management page. This will trigger sync across all forms that contain the goal which has been updated.
