Symptom
After a form is completed, if changes are made to the metric field of the goal in the completed form, the report will display the latest content of the metric field, even though the completed form is showing the original metric field.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Performance & Goals
Reproducing the Issue
- A form is completed.
- Update the metric field of a goal that is associated with the completed form.
- Go to the completed form and the metric field stays unchanged on the form.
- Go to reporting and run a report on the completed form.
- The report is showing the updated metric field instead of the original content.
Cause
This is expected behavior based on current design.
Resolution
The data for metric field displayed in the report is taken directly from the goal plan.
- When the metric field of a goal is changed, reports and in-progress form pages always display the latest content.
- When a form is completed, the metric field on the form does not change when you update it via goal plan, because it is the form content which is static data that appears in the completed folder.
However, the metric field on the report pulls the most up-to-date information from the goal plan. That's why, after a form is completed, if changes are made to the metric field of the goal in the completed form, the report will display the updated content, even though the completed form is showing the original metric field.
To avoid data discrepancies, it is suggested not to edit goals that are associated with completed forms.
