Symptom

  • Upgrade phase "SYB_UPDSTATS_TADIR_COMPONENT_CHECK" aborted with severe errors

  • SYBSTMTSTD.OUT:
    Error message: DBSL error 99 (db code 1764):
    [ASE Error SQL1764]Failed to insert row into worktable, when
    projecting base table on to work table for collecting statistics.
    exit code: "20"
    Process with PID 29098216 terminated with status 20 at 20230905194953!

  • ASE error log:
    Error: 1105, Severity: 17, State: 3
    server  Can't allocate space for object 'temp worktable' in database 'tempdb' because 'system' segment is full/has no free extents. If you ran out of space in syslogs, dump the transaction log. Otherwise, use ALTER DATABASE to increase the size of the segment.
