3377597 - KB Sync failing due to duplicate attribute

Symptom

When customer attempt to perform a KB Sync or perform a Simple Product Administration API call, an error is thrown informing that there are Duplicated Attributes.

Environment

SAP SALES CLOUD CPQ

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Perform a KB Sync
  2. On Knowledge Base Diagnostic Pages see error message informing error "Product tab <Tab Name> contains duplicate attribute <Attribute Name>".

Cause

Resolution

  • Payload should be checked for duplicated attributes
  • If payload contains no error, it must be checked if any modification has been done in CPQ on the product:
    • It should be checked if faulty product attribute do not exists on the product in CPQ but exists in the payload
    • The attribute must be deleted from the Payload if it do not exist in CPQ
  • This error is also received when attempting to perform updates or synchronize product using Simple Product Administration, due to it also not support using attributes with the same name, although attributes have different ids/system ids in backend system
    • Even when duplicated attribute is not being passed in the Payload, the product is loaded during the SOAP API call, and when system attempt to perform the change, the error is thrown due to attribute with same name already existing in product.
