3378564 - Hierarchy collapsing after filtering or adding a dimension

In Analysis Office report, a hierarchy is expanded. After filtering a dimension or adding a dimension to rows/columns, the user expects that the hierarchy remains expanded but the hierarchy is collapsing. The same behavior occurs in T-cd: RSRT.

1. Expand a hierarchy in Analysis Office report;



2. After changing the filter of a dimension (or after adding a dimension to rows/columns), confirm that the hierarchy is collapsing:

This is the designed behavior. Whenever filtering or changing the filter of a dimension which is part of the drill path, the hierarchy will collapse. For example, when changing/filtering a dimension on the left side of the hierarchy in rows, or a dimension which is above the hierarchy in columns. This is also the case when adding another dimension to the drill path.

This is not a bug of the product, but the designed behavior. The hierarchy will only remain expanded if the filtered dimension is not part of the drill path (e.g. background filter).

When adding another dimension, the hierarchy will only remain expanded if the dimension is not added to the drill path (e.g. when added to the right side of the hierarchy in rows or below the hierarchy in columns).
