3378773 - Conversion error is raised when connecting to the repository with an external user that is not created yet - SAP PD

Symptom

  • When trying to connect to the repository using a Direct definition with an external (LDAP) user that does not exist in the repository, an error message is returned:
       - using a SQL Server JDBC driver, "Conversion failed when converting the varchar value 'ADMIN' to data type int."
       - using a SQL Anywhere ODBC driver, "[SAP][ODBC Driver][SQL Anywhere]Cannot convert 'ADMIN' to numeric." 
  • New users are not created despite the Auto-create user accounts in repository option is selected.
  • The error may also be displayed for users managed by PD.
