3378958 - Performance degradation with page unresponsive error while editing stories in Explorer mode in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) & SAP Digital Boardroom

Symptom

The following behavior occurs in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC):

  • You would like to select and view data of the story in explorer mode based on certain attributes such as cross calculation, and you are unable to progress due to the loading time,
  • Loading usually ends with the browser error: "Page Unresponsive".
  • The issue is typically observed after QRC3 2023 tenant upgrade.

Environment

SAP Analytics Cloud 2023.16.4

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Log on to SAC.
  2. Open the affected story.
  3. Switch to explorer mode.
  4. Switch the donut chart to a table.
  5. Select a cross calculation.
  6. Notice the slowness of the tool. Sometimes ends in page unresponsive when trying to click something else.
