Symptom

  • Business object could not be published because of conflicts
  • The key indicator cannot be set for the type of field <FIELD ID> of node <NODE ID>

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Custom Business Objects app
  2. Create a new CBO
  3. Go to the Fields app
  4. Create new field and choose any of the following types: Amount with Currency, Number, Phone Number, Quantity with Unit
  5. Click on Publish
  6. Getting error: "Business object could not be published because of conflicts" and "The key indicator cannot be set for the type of field <FIELD ID> of node <NODE ID>"

  1. Go to Custom Business Objects app
  2. Create a new CBO
  3. Go to the Fields app
  4. Create new field and choose any of the following types: Amount with Currency, Number, Phone Number, Quantity with Unit
  5. Click on Save Draft
  6. Getting error: "The key indicator cannot be set for the type of field <FIELD ID> of node <NODE ID>"

Cause

This is a known limitation.

Resolution

It is not possible to define key fields of the following types:

  • Amount with Currency
  • Number
  • Phone Number
  • Quantity with Unit
