3380048 - Data Import Service API api/v1/dataimport not working for the BI license in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

The Data import service api/v1/dataimport does not work for the Business Intelligent license.

The underlying wrangling service used by Data Import Service treats all models as Planning models when on SAC and therefore Maintain privilege is required on Planning Model in the role no matter the SAC model to import data to is a Planning model or an Analytic model.

As a result, the Planning Standard or Planning Professional license is required.

If you want to do the data import service, please arrange the Planning Standard or Planning Professional License for the business user. It is mandatory even if an Analytic model is in use.

Note: This requirement is only for business users (3-legged OAuth), not for technical users (2-legged OAuth). That's because technical users can be viewed more as a direct connection to the system rather than an actual user.
With this direct connection there are no user concepts involved in this interaction, which means that the checking of roles and licenses does not apply for the technical connection, so that no Planning license is required in this case.
