3380062 - Upgrading the SuccessFactors system in IPS from SF OData API to SCIM API causes 409 status error "Email address is already used for <ID>"

Symptom

  • In Identity Provisioning (IPS) tenant, the SuccessFactors system was upgraded from SF ODATA API (version 1) to SF SCIM API (version 2). After running an IPS job, the following error can be seen in the IPS job log for SAP Analytics Cloud target system:
     
    error=com.sap.cloud.ips.connectors.impl.BulkOperationException: id=XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX, variables={targetEntityTransformationDetails=com.sap.security.iag.provisioning.TargetEntityTransformationDetailsImpl@dc23421, currentDate=yyyy-mm-dd hh:mm:ss.xxx}, type=user, content=<hidden content>, id=XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX, variables={targetEntityTransformationDetails=com.sap.security.iag.provisioning.TargetEntityTransformationDetailsImpl@dc23421, currentDate=yyyy-mm-dd hh:mm:ss.xxx} entity create failed with "Entity already exists", but the entity was not found by the unique attribute configured ...BulkOperation [method=POST, bulkId=XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX, status=409, location=null, response=BulkOperationResponseAttribute [status=409, detail=Email address is already used for <ID>, schemas=[urn:ietf:params:scim:api:messages:2.0:Error]]],

  • In the payload of the failed data, there is email present
