Symptom
The user encounters an issue with recording time for a project when an Organizational Unit is assigned to the Project. Project Task does not appear in the dropdown of the Employee Times/Edit Timesheets.
Environment
SAP Business ByDesign
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to Time Administration workcenter
- Go to Employees view
- Search for Employee ABC
- Select Edit
- Navigate to the Employee Times tab
- Select Add Row
- Enter Time Type as Actual Hours worked
- Navigate to the Labour Resource tab
- Under Project Task Information, for Task select the Value help
Observe the task does not exist.
NOTE: This could also happen in the Self Service - Edit Timesheet.
Cause
The Work Package is not added on the project task while booking the time recording.
Resolution
Follow the below steps to add the Work Package to display the project task while booking the time recording. Please note that these steps has to be performed by each employee to view the task.
- Go to Self-Service overview
- Select Edit Time Sheet
- Select Manage My Worklist
- Select Add Work Package
- Search for the relevant Project Task XYZ and Save
Now the Project Task appears in the dropdown of the Employee Times.
