3380710 - Searching on Datasphere Compound Keys during member selection will fail with an error in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

When attempting to search in input controls or member selection dialogs on Datasphere dimensions that have compound keys, search will not work and returns an error.

• SAP Analytics Cloud (Enterprise) 2023.8+
• SAP Datasphere

Currently, the backend does not support "LIKE" search on compound keys, so any search that triggers a server side search operation will fail.

Search won't always fail because there are workflows in the story which do not perform server side search for dimension members (including compound dimensions). The following workflows perform client side search for dimension members:

• Member Selector when dimension has less than 4000 members;
• Input Control
• When selecting "All members" and the dimension has less than 100 members;
• When explicitly selecting a subset of members.

Once SAP Datasphere backend is updated to the Hana Cloud 2024 QRC3 release (planned for late September/early October) it should support "LIKE" search on compound keys and the issue should no longer occur.

In the meantime the only option is to disable compound keys on the Datasphere model if search functionality is required.
