3380811 - Data in the Header Text field is Empty for Journal Entry.

Symptom

In the Journal Entry the header text field is empty.

For example: If the Journal Entry is generated from Source documents like Goods and Service Receipt, the header text field is empty.

Environment

SAP Business ByDesign

Reproducing the Issue

1) Go to General Ledger work center.

2) Go to Journal Entry sub view.

3) Search For the Journal Entry XYZ along with the source document ID (Goods and Service Receipt). (XYZ refers to Journal Entry ID).

4) There you can see under Header Text the field is empty.

Cause

In the source documents like Goods and Service Receipt, there is initially no description field available as per the system design.

For example:  In documents like Payment run if you mention any details in the description field it will be reflected in the header text of the Journal Entry.

Resolution

In this case, there is no field as description is available in the source documents like Good and Service Receipt to impact on respective Journal Entry. This is a expected system behavior.

Here suggested workaround is in the Journal Entry you can manually give the Header text. But you can't see the same under anywhere in Good and Service Receipt.

Header Text in Goods Service Receipt: Your changes are not incorporated in the source document.
