3381129 - New Hire's name missing on Onboarding Dashboard but appears after New Hire Data Review - Onboarding

Some new hire names (First, Last or Full name) are missing on the Onboarding dashboard and after the New Hire Data Review the names come back.

There are two possible causes for this problem, see below:

1. Due to HRIS mapping of "Preferred Name" to "First Name", the null value is sent to Onboarding as well.
2. "General Display Name" is set and per currently configuration First Name or Last Name are not the ones selected, but Preferred Name.

For the two previously causes, in order, there are the two respective path to fix those issues:

1. For the first resolution: It's necessary to remove the mapping. When the HRIS sync for "Preferred Name" to "First Name" is removed, issue no longer happens.
2. For the second resolution: Please update the name format as the one selected on "General Display Name" to the required one.

Giving an example: "First name" is not appearing on Dashboard, once checking what is the Name Format selected in General Display Name, and by searching it on Manage Data, there is no "First Name" but only Preferred Name + Last Name. Even after removing mapping as "Cause 1" system will respect General Display Name configuration.

To check which name format is configured you need to:

• Go to 'Admin center' > 'Configure people profile' page and check General Setting > Name Format field.

To check how name format is configured:

• Go to Manager Data > Name Format. Please provide 'first name' as alternative name element in name format selected.
