3381170 - Credit Limit still effective after Limit Valid To Date expired.

Symptom

Credit Limit for the business partner is still valid even if the Limit Valid To date has become a past date.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud

Resolution

The Limit Valid To date is determined by the limit calculating mechanism. Even if date has become a past date, the credit check will be performing the same as before it expires, as long as the credit control settings are still there. And it has no impact to the credit control whether this date is a past one or not.

It is decided to not let the credit fail due to an invalid validity date of the credit limit to prevent all the sales orders from getting blocked from one day to another for a customer when the limit seems to not be valid anymore. Credit controller on customer side can still monitor the validity date on their own and adapt the limit accordingly. In addition, the event limit invalid will be triggered in case the valid to date was reached and customers can define a follow-on process like a limit re-calculation based on formula or other follow-on processes.
