Symptom

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Navigate to Manage Business Configuration;
  2. Create a Person Type;
  3. Set a field as mandatory;
  4. Go to the profile of any employee;
  5. Notice the field set as mandatory is still non mandatory.

Cause

The corresponding HRIS Element has Country/Region maintained.

Resolution

When the HRIS Element has Country Specific (Country/Region) configuration maintained, Person Type needs to be configured inside of the Country Specific configuration.

To solve the issue, in Manage Business Configuration:

  1. Either configure Person Type inside of employee's Country Specific (Country/Region);
  2. Or remove all the Country Specifics (Country/Region) from the HRIS Element.
