3381672 - Issue in Calculation of Revenue Recognition for Contracts For a Straight Line Accrual Method.

Symptom

User observes that the system is calculating the Revenue Recognition Run for 13 months instead of 12 months for a Straight Line Accrual Method.

Environment

SAP Business ByDesign 

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Cost and Revenue work center.
  2. Go to Revenue Recognition Runs view. 
  3. Search for the required Run ID for the Contract ABC.
  4. Check the Contract Start Date and End Date.

User observes that the run is calculating for 13 months instead of 12 months.

Cause

The accrual method is '303 - Straight-line – even periods' assigned for the Contract item ABC and the Contract start date is DD-MM-YYYY  and the Contract end date is DD1-MM-YYYY and these dates fall in 13th period as well and the revenue recognition is calculating for the 13 periods. 

(Here ABC refers to a contract item)

Resolution

It is the standard behavior of SAP ByDesign for this accrual method.
