3381962 - Unable to save query building when creating BW model/dataset in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) & SAP Digital Boardroom

Symptom

The following error message occurs in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC):

  • "An error occurred while fetching members for this dimension." - when you try to apply filter values in the query builder panel.
  • "An internal server error occurred in the SAP Analytics Cloud agent: Error: Provider Selection Object: Initialization Issue." - when you try to save the new query in SAC without the filters.

Environment

SAP Analytics Cloud (Enterprise) 2023.16.10 

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Log on to SAC.
  2. Go to Menu->Datasets.
  3. Create new dataset from BW connection.
  4. Select affected query
  5. Set prompts with Company code, Fisc year period, Forecast and Comparison forecast.
  6. Select Cost Centre as data and filter in query builder.
  7. Select YTD Actual as data in builder.
  8. Try to select value for Cost Centre filter but notice you receive an error: An error occurred while fetching members for this dimension.
  9. Delete the filter from query builder and try saving the dataset this way.
  10. Notice when trying to save you get the error: An internal server error occurred in the SAP analytics cloud agent.
    Provider selection object: Initialization issue.

Cause

This issue is has been investigated by development.

Resolution

Updating the validity intervals for time characteristics has resolved this issue.
