3382242 - Process communication Error Message in Shopping Cart: Enter an e-mail address in the output settings

You have entered all the data correctly in shopping cart and there is no output channel required for shopping cart but still system is throwing error in shopping cart: Enter an e-mail address in the output settings

You have maintained automatic purchase order creation settings and expect purchase order to be generated from shopping cart directly.

1. Go to Home work center
2. Go to Self Services and Self Services Overview
3. Track My Shopping Carts
4. Open the relevant shopping cart ID
5. Under Items tab go to Document Flow
6. You can see the process communication error: Enter an e-mail address in the output settings

Once shopping cart is released, purchase request gets created and then purchase order is generated if automatic purchase order creation settings are maintained.

So, in order to generate purchase order, output channel needs to be maintained.

You have maintained rule "E-mail" as the option for Created Purchase Order in "output channel selection" under Input and Output Management view in "Application and User Management" work center. However, no email address is maintained here or in the preferred supplier master data.

Hence, system is throwing this error in shopping cart because system is not able to find the email address required to automatically generate purchase order from the shopping cart.

Please maintain a valid email address in the supplier master data communication-> collaboration sub tab and then create a new shopping cart and check.

OR

Please maintain 3 output channels like printer, fax and email in Output Channel Selection rules, so that system can consider any of them if email address is not found or invalid  and can generate follow up document purchase order automatically from cart considering any of the channels.

Later you can also edit the purchase order and enter relevant email address in "You can also-> Edit Output Settings for changed Purchase Order" if necessary.
