3382274 - Production Model showing as Check Pending or Consistent when it should be inconsistent.

There are Production Models that are showing as either Check Pending or consistent when they should be inconsistent since the Production Bill of Material is obsolete.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to Planning and Production Master Data Work Center.
2. Go to Production Models view.
3. Find Production Model ID ABC (ABC means Production Model ID)
4. Open it and notice that Obsolete Bills of Material Variant checkbox is not marked, and the Planning-Consistency Status and Execution-Consistency Status are Consistent, but when you see above Save and Close buttons the Planning-Consistency Status and Execution-Consistency Status are Check Pending.

When you created a Production Bill of Material variant and Production Bill of Operation in consistent status, then you go for production model creation. Once the Production Model is created and the status is consistent, then you can release the same for production planning model and production execution model. After that, if you make the Production Bill of Material variant obsolete and make some changes in Production Bill of Operation where the status of Production Bill of Operation also changed to Check Pending, you can also observe that Production Model status is also changed to Check Pending and the planning and execution model also changed to Check Pending.

If you again try to release the planning and execution model, you will get the error and Production Bill of Material variant is marked obsolete and Production Model is inconsistent, you cannot further release the Production Model.

If you want to make a Production Bill of Material variant obsolete then you should open the Production Bill of Material view and all others view should be closed. In Production Bill of Material view, obsolete the Production Bill of Material variant and click on Save and Close. Then open Production Model view and, if that Production Bill of Material variant is used in that Production Model, do Check Consistency, you will get the error message and the status of Production Model will also change to Check Pending.
