3382302 - You Cannot Activate Org Structure and ends with Error "Please try Resuming Your Work. If You Still Face Issues, Report an Incident."

You are trying to check or activate an org structure, however after a couple of minutes the system dumps with the following message:

"Please try resuming your work. If you still face issues, report an incident."

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to Organizational management Workcenter.
2. Go to Org structures view.
3. Enter an effective date and click on Ok.
4. Select the org unit to be activated.
5. Click on the Check button (alternatively, click on the Activate button).
6. From the drop down list, select Check Selected Structure (alternatively, click on Activate Selected Structure).

After a couple of minutes, you can see the popup dump.

This is a common timeout dump caused by the amount of data being processed.

In order to properly process the required operation (activation or check), you can use the option of performing such actions in the background:

1. Go to Organizational management Workcenter.
2. Go to Org structures view.
3. Enter an effective date and click on Ok.
4. Select the org unit to be activated.
5. Click on the Check button (alternatively, click on the Activate button).
6. From the drop down list, select Check Selected and Dependent Org Units in Background  (alternatively, click on Activate Selected and Dependent Org Units in Background).

This will perform the required actions in a background job which is not subject to UI timeouts. When finished, an e-mail notification should be triggered.
