3382719 - Outgoing BP relationship WS triggered when it is not expected

Symptom

The customer has communication arrangement filter to Block Prospects from being sent.

However, they observed that when creating contacts associated to Prospects, and by informing the Contact Owner, the action triggers an outbound BP relationship webservice.

Environment

C4C

Cloud for Customer

Reproducing the Issue

In C4C

  1. In Customer work center, go to Accounts facet
  2. click to add a new account and save it.
  3. now, under the tab Contact, add a new contact and save it.
  4. you can check that in web service message monitoring none message was triggered for it.
  5. back in contact, click edit, add an owner to it and save.
  6. now you can see that a message was triggered on web service message monitoring.

Cause

That is an expected behaviour.

Resolution

When filter "Block Prospects from being sent" is set, then we block prospects, their contact relationships (BUR001) and corresponding contacts from being sent out. The case is you are performing a change on the owner and that is not a contact, but a relationship of the contact, or in other words: a next level relationships for the contact. So, next level relationships from the contacts to other business partners are not considered and because of that the filter is not blocking.

We understand it would make semantically sense but this is not part of the scope.
