3383807 - The Balance Sheet and Income Statement Preview is Empty for Chinese Companies

• The Balance Sheet and Income Statement preview for Chinese companies is empty.
• With the Standard Template Chinese-English it does not work, however with the Standard Template US-English it works.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to the General Ledger Work Center - Statutory Reports View.
2. Click on Balance Sheet and Income Statement.
3. Press Edit.
4. Press Next.
5. Press Finish.
6. Click on Preview.
You can see that the File is empty. This is not as expected, there should be data in the file. Also via the button View Printed Results the results do not come as expected. 

Now do compare this with the US-English standard template:

1. Open the Adobe Lifecycle Designer.
2. Open the File "BalanceSheetandIncomeStatement_US_EN.xdp" and confirm the messages.
3. Click on File - Form Properties.
4. Select Preview.
5. Choose data file as per "balance confirmation.xml".
6. Select Preview Adobe XML Form as "Static PDF Form".
7. Click on Preview - PDF.
8. Click on Options - Enable Javascript for this document one time only.
You can see that there is data which is correct.

If you compare this now with the Chinese-English Standard Template:

1. Open the Adobe Lifecycle Designer.
2. Open the file "BalanceSheetandIncomeStatement_CN_EN.xdp" and confirm the messages.
3. Click on File - Form Properties.
4. Select Preview.
5. Choose data file as per "balance confirmation.xml".
6. Select Preview Adobe XML form as "Static pdf form".
7. Click on Preview - PDF.
8. Click on Options - enable Javascript for this document one time only.
You can see that there is no data which is not as expected. You want to see the Data here.

• The PDF is coming up empty because a China based Company ID is being used in the Standard Balance Sheet and Income Statement Report.
• You need to use a different Report.

1. There is a specific report for such scenarios: the Balance Sheet and Income Statement - China Report.
2. Please use this Report to generate the file. This solves your issue.
