3384122 - Workflow does not work with Note field Before Object Change

You create a Workflow to check if Note field is not equal to itself Before Object Change but it does not trigger.

SAP Cloud for Customer.

1. Go to the Administrator Work Center.
2. Go to the Workflow Rules Work Center View.
3. Create a new Workflow Rule.
4. Set a rule that triggers if Note is different than itself (Before Object Change) -> Note (Before Object Change) / Not equal to / Note.
5. Save it, Activate and make any change in the Note field.
6. See the Workflow will trigger only the first time, and not anymore if you try to trigger it again.

It happens because currently Note information is stored in separate Node Object so Before Image is not stored in Buffer. As a consequence, Before Image and Current Image are the same, and some conditions can fail.

This is a system limitation.
