3385213 - Connection failed to LDAP using SSL, error is raised "The LDAP server is unavailable" - SAP PD

Symptom

  • Testing the connection to LDAP server via LDAPs returns:
       The LDAP server 'ldaps://host:636' connection failed with the following error: The LDAP server is unavailable.
  • Server type is either Open LDAP or Netscape Directory Server.
  • Telnet on port 636 is successful.
  • No problem when Secure Socket Layer (SSL) is not selected.
