3385899 - Document Flow did not trigger for the candidates - Onboarding

Symptom

  • e-Signature step is not triggered for the candidates.
  • An application error is being received when trying to access the Document Template Mapping.
    • Message: An application error occurred. Please try again later, or notify support (with the error information of errorId=00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000, timestamp=YYYY-MM-YYTHH:MM:SS.MSS+0000, and the version information from the current screen) if the issue keeps occurring.
  • The candidates landed in BPE Error Task after the Personal Data Collection/Additional Data Collection Step.
  • Error is received when trying to add a new document template:
    • Message: ChangeSet index 1 - ???Cannot initialize bean because Object Definition is found to be null for object type: DocumentGenerationTemplate??? 
  • Unable to view documents in Maintain Onboarding and Offboarding Document Templates:
    • Message: Document Template Preview could not be loaded

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Initiate onboarding for a candidate.
  2. Complete New Hire Data Review, Personal Data Collection and/or Additional Data Collection steps.
  3. Candidate is stuck and no e-signature step triggered.

Cause

Error in the Logs:

  • Object Definition is Null for provided Object Type. Please ensure that the corresponding feature is enabled via Upgrade Center or Provisioning.
  • 'DocumentGenerationTemplate' definition not found in MDF datamodel. Either the 'DocumentGenerationTemplate' definition is invalid or Corresponding module is not enabled.

Configuration issue:

  • PFS user is different in company setting than the user Id provided in the PFS URL request.

Resolution

For Live Customers and/or Implementation Partners:

(For Customers, you do not have access to the Print Form Generation Settings in Provisioning, please reach out to your Implementation Partner or to the SAP Cloud Product Support Team for assistance)

  1. Navigate to Provisioning > Company Settings.
  2. In the Print Form Generation Settings, check that the data in the following field matched the information from the PFS URL request initiated for the affected instance.
    • PFS URL has the odata/PDF at the end of the URL.
    • PFS User matches the User Id provided in the PFS URL request.
    • The password for the login is the same as the P/S-User ID password (also used to login to other SAP tools such as https://accounts.sap.com/)

NOTE: The password in the SAP Tool must be reset every 6 months. Please make sure to try resetting the password before updating the settings in the Print Form Generation Settings.

Please make the necessary changes and restart the task in the BPE Error Task for the affected candidates.
