3386339 - SUM Java upgrade doesn't work on primary application server (PAS)

Symptom

  • The <SID> system consists of two SAP instances, namely <host1>(PAS/J01) and <host2>(AS/J02).
  • Starting the SUM on <host1>(PAS/J01), it aborts in the "Specify OS User Credentials" step.

The COMMON-DETECT-SYSTEM_01.0.LOG file points, that the SUM starts in <host2>

    • Jun 27, 2023 3:47:59 PM [Info  ]: SIC property instanceNumber is 02
    • Jun 27, 2023 3:47:59 PM [Info  ]: SIC property instanceHostName is <host2>

  • SUM considers <host2> (AS/J02) as the central (PAS)  instance, which is not true.
