Environment
SAP Analytics Cloud 2.0

- Log in to SAC.
- Open the story containing chart, table, story filter, table filter, chart filter, page filter.
- Save the current state as bookmark, then remove the page filter and save the story.
- Open the saved story, the bookmark contains the saved state along with the page filter.
- Initial story has chart, table, page filter, chart filter, save the current bookmark.
- Remove the page filter and save the story.
- Open the saved bookmark, the bookmark does not contain the page filter.
Cause
Behavior is by design.
Resolution
- The missing page filter is treated just like a missing chart or table.
- Bookmarks do not capture the full definition of the widget (e.g. Chart, table, page filter, etc.) but only the filter values.
- The whole idea behind bookmarks in classic story/unoptimized story is to allow story viewers to capture the filter and variable values so that they don’t have to reconfigure them the next time they view the same story. Since viewers are unable to create/modify/delete anything on the page (e.g. chart, table, page filter, etc).
- Story filters are an exception because the viewers can create them while viewing the story, and thus is the only type of artifact in the story that is captured in full definition and restored back when the bookmarks are applied.
