Symptom

When trying to activate a replication task, both or one of the following errors thrown in framework.trc:

  • Error: exception 151050: CDC add subscription failed: RS[<REMOTE_SOURCE_NAME>]: Failed to add the first subscription. Error: java.sql.SQLSyntaxErrorException: ORA-01031:insufficient privileges
  • [ERROR] [] OracleLogReaderAdapter | ExceptionUtil.newAdapterException [] - Adapter validation failed. Required privileges and/or roles not granted to the database user [<USER>]. Missing privileges and/or roles are [<ROLES>] com.sap.hana.dp.cdcadaptercommons.validation.ValidationException: Required privileges and/or roles not granted to the database user [TEST_USER].
