Resolution

Below are some examples on how to use the BB codes:

  1. In Configure Object Definitions, select the object you want to add the BB codes in a Help Text
  2. Click on Take Action > Make Correction
  3. Select the field you want to add the Help Text > Details
  4. In the Help Text field enter the text you want to display
  5. For Bold texts, you should use the cold as [b] Sample of text [/b]
  6. The same applies for italics and underline ([i] [/i] and [u] [/u])
  7. You can also centralize your text using [center] TEXT [/center]
  8. For breaking a line, simply add the code [br]



  9. This is how you see it in People Profile, when clicking on the field Help Text button:

You can also use BB codes in a Warning, Error or Information message.

In order to create a Business Rule to raise a message, please review Creation of a Rule That Raises a Message.

NOTE: Currently, BB codes in Warning, Error and Information messages only work in Manage Data. It doesn't work in People Profile messages.
This is planned to be fixed on B2511 release.

The following BB codes are supported for errors, warnings and information messages as well as in fields help texts:

BB CodesDescription
[b], [i] and [u]Applies text format such as - bold, italics and underline, respectively.
[color], [size] and [font]Applies preferred fonts, color and size formattig for your help text.
[left], [right] and [center]Indents your text towards left, right or center.
[email] and [url]Includes email addresses and links in your help text. xURLs are also supported. xURLs opens the link in a new tab in your browser.
[list]Formats your help texts into a list.
[image]Inserts images in your help text.
[code]Inserts example code to your help text.
[quotes]Inserts quotes in your help texts.
[noparse]Retains BB codes in your help text by using this code.
[sub] and [sup]Applies subscript and superscript text to your help texts.
[br]Inserts line breaks in your help text.
