Resolution
Question 1: What does the Key Date mean?
Answer: Here is the definition (F1 Help) of this property in the system:
Simply, we can understand it as the "Valid From Date".
Question 2: How does the Key Date work?
Answer: Let's explain this with an example.
Assume that you create an inspection plan X on Key Date 2023/10/01, then it will be valid from 2023/10/01 to 9999/12/31. If you then change the plan on Key Date 2023/11/01, now there will be actually 2 versions of inspection plan X in the system. Version1 is valid from 2023/10/01 to 2023/10/31. Version2 is valid from 2023/11/01 to 9999/12/31.
Question 3: How can I set/change the Key Date?
Answer: If you create/edit the inspection plan via the Fiori app Manage Inspection Plans, you can change the Key Date with the button on the top right corner:
If you create/edit the inspection plan via the GUI app Create/Change Inspection Plan (QP01/QP02), you can directly enter the Key Date:
