3388204 - After Rehire Employee Remains Inactive in Time Administration

Symptom

After an employee is rehired,  the new validity of the employment is  correctly displayed in the personnel file. But the data is not transferred to the time file. There, still the outdated termination date is shown, which leads to the fact that the employee can currently not submit leave requests or perform time related activities.

Environment

SAP Business ByDesign

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Personnel Administration work center
  2. Go to Employees view
  3. Find and Edit the employee
  4. Find correct new employment dates
  1. Go to Time Administration work center
  2. Go to Employees view
  3. Show Active Employees
  4. Notice that the relevant employee is not available as Active
  5. Show All Employees
  6. Find the  employee with outdated Hire and Termination Date

Cause

The issue is caused by a missing time agreement in the backend

Resolution

Open an incident and provide the permission to correct the issue, so that SAP development can perform the correction in the backend. 

As soon the time agreement is created, it is possible to manually maintain the Time File in the UI.
