3388513 - New I-9 Form checkbox for forms examined remotely under a DHS-authorized alternative procedure - Onboarding 1.0

• A recruiter is unable to see the checkbox for a remote hire candidate.
• There is no option for the hiring manager or recruiter to check the checkbox for a remote employee in New Employee Step.

SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding 1.0

1. Initiate Onboarding for a remote hire.
2. Complete the PHV and New Employee Steps.
3. The Onboarding activity is completed to All Documents Submitted without showing the checkbox as per the blog.

System is working as designed.

• The checkbox 'Check here if you used an alternative procedure authorized by DHS to examine documents.' is only available for Hiring Managers when completing US I9 Section 2.
• This checkbox will not be presented in New Employee Step or in US I9 Section 1

• There it explains:
  • Hiring Managers now will have visibility to a Checkbox during Section 2 to indicate they've used the DHS-authorized alternative procedure to examine documents, rather than physical examination
• This means that the checkbox does not refer to a candidate as a remote hire, this checkbox is available ONLY during US I9 Section 2 for the Hiring Managers to check if they have used the DHS-authorized alternative procedure to examine the documents of the candidates such as via video call.
• This checkbox will not be presented during US I9 Section 1 or New Employee Step.
