3388703 - How to deactivate a previously used cost center?

Symptom

When you try to deactivate a cost center, delete it from a distribution rule, or change its effective period to be able to remove it from a distribution rule, one of the following error messages is displayed:

  • Another user or another operation modified data; to continue, open the window again  'Distribution Rule' (OOCR) (ODBC -2039)  [Message 131-183]
  • You cannot continue; distribution rule is not fully within linked cost center's effective period
  • You cannot continue; distribution rule is not within linked cost center's effective period
