• Is it possible to disable the new form I-9 checkbox 'Check here if you used an alternative procedure authorized by DHS to examine documents.' in Orientation Step?
• Client does not want to have the panel with this new form I-9 checkbox in Orientation Step.

Upon confirmation with the Product Management Team, disabling the new checkbox as part of the new form I-9 process isn't possible.

The checkbox 'Check here if you used an alternative procedure authorized by DHS to examine documents.' is not a DHS/E-Verify panel, rather, this was introduced as part of the New I-9 form which on the paper I-9 cannot be hidden.

This checkbox is only available for Hiring Managers when completing US I9 Section 2 in the Orientation Step.

• If in some circumstances a hiring manager has accidentally checked the checkbox, this does not allow him to proceed further to the next panel, unless supported documents are uploaded.

Currently, the Product Management Team is working to revise the verbiage on the panel to prevent confusion to the users. Timeline for this is presently unknown.

As an alternative solution, you may need to advise the Hiring Manager or the responsible user of the Orientation Step to leave this checkbox unchecked to follow the old process.
