3389194 - Overhead amount is different between order planned cost and material cost estimate/actual cost

Symptom

Overhead amount is different between order planned cost and material cost estimate/actual cost.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Cause

The order planned cost is calculated with more detailed granular.

Resolution

For material cost estimate, it only considers the calculation base account, to calculate the overhead amount on the percentage defined in costing sheet.

For order planned cost/actual cost, it determines the activity type, object ID, and lot size independent indicator, and group the values together as a sum value.

During the calculation, there could be rounding difference.

Example,

Order planned cost:

Cost Element LotSizeIndependent Value Subtotal Rate Value

Total(rounded)

Line1 100000 666 10%
Line2 100000 1000 1666 10% 167
Line3 100000 X 167 167 10% 17 184

Material cost estimate:

(666+1000+167)x10% = 183 (rounded)

To adjust the rounding variance, you can use app Reassign Costs and Revenues to post to the same account.
