3389271 - No update of Excess Receipt when confirming a Production Order

Symptom

The business requirement is to indicate that expected yield surpluses should not flow into the expected yield variance.

Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition (All Versions)

Cause

Expected Yield Deviation

Specifies whether a yield variance is to be expected when the finished product is delivered to stock, as the result of confirmations that have already been entered.

  • A yield deficit occurs during final confirmation of operations, as soon as a yield quantity is confirmed that is smaller than the planned order quantity. The confirmed scrap is not taken into account.
  • A yield increment occurs during partial confirmation or final confirmation of operations, as soon as a yield quantity is confirmed that is greater than the planned order quantity. The confirmed scrap is not taken into account.

Dependencies

An expected yield deficit is displayed as a negative value, an expected yield increment is displayed as a positive value.

Resolution

In SSCUI 102508 - 'Define Production Scheduling Profile for Discrete Manufacturing' select the corresponding combination of 'Plant' and 'Production Scheduling Profile'.

At the 'Confirmation' section the 'No Update of Excess Receipt' checkbox can be found.

Indicator: No update of yield surplus

Indicator used to indicate that expected yield surpluses should not flow into the expected yield variance.

Use

A yield surplus is recorded during partial or final confirmation of operations if the confirmed yield is greater than the planned order quantity. The expected yield variance is relevant to materials requirements planning.

Dependencies

  • If you set only this indicator, yield variances are only taken into account, if the yield that is finally confirmed is less than the planned operation quantity.
  • If you set this indicator and the indicator 'No update of yield deficit' then no variances are updated (in this case the expected yield variance displayed on the header screen of the order remains at zero).
