3389632 - Multiple records can be added via opening 2 tabs or via Import extended user information even if max.entries is set as 1 for background element

Symptom

Even if set max.entries = 1 for background element, multiple records can be added via opening 2 tabs or via Import extended user information tool.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central

  • Employee Profile

Reproducing the Issue

1. Log into the instance.

2. Go to Manage business configuration >> Employee Profile >> click on certain Background element >> confirm that max.entries is set as 1

3. Go to employee profile of sample user >> go to the background information block >> confirm that normally only 1 record can be added.

But if open 2 tabs, firstly maintain data in tab1, then maintain data in tab2, then save in tab2, finally save in tab1, 2 records can be added.

4. Go to Import extended user information >> import background information >> confirm multiple records can be added.

Cause

Max.entries limit doesn't apply when importing data items. This is currently system expected behavior.

But regarding the behavior 'multiple records can be added via opening 2 tabs', this is confirmed as Defect and will be resolved in 2H2023 release.

Resolution

As a temporary workaround, it is advised to avoid saving via 2 tabs.

As a permanent solution, the defect will be resolved in 2H2023 release.
