3390004 - How to install a CC/BART system on CDB/PDB Oracle database.

Symptom

You want to install a SAP CC/BART system on a CDB / PDB Oracle database.

Using a thin JDBC client, the URI to connect to an Oracle database can have two formats:

  • Using the service format: jdbc:oracle:thin:@//[host]:[port]/[Service]
  • Using the system identifier (SID) format: jdbc:oracle:thin:@[host]:[port]:[SID]

The Convergent Charging / BART installer does not allow using the service method, as it explicitly asks for the host, port and SID.

Unfortunately, on an Oracle Pluggable Database (PDB) the SID method is disabled by default.
