Symptom
You have noticed that, upon hiring an employee for Fixed Term, despite having the hire rule configured in the Time Account Type, the termination rule was triggered.
Environment
- SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central
- SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to 'Add New Employee for Fixed Term' and perform the hire;
- Fill the template;
- After the employee is hired, check their Time Account;
- Notice that the balance given there is referring to the Termination Rule.
Cause
Expected behavior.
Resolution
- By adding an employee for fixed term, you're already filling the termination date of the employee, and, as the termination falls under the same accrual period, the termination rule is going to be triggered and will give balance accordingly.
- As per the Guide article Termination Rule | SAP Help Portal, 'if the accrual booking already exists during termination, the accrual booking is recalculated so that the termination rule is executed and the new value posted.'
