3391819 - Test Automation Tool: DEFAULT Role Validation errors

While doing tests in ‘Test Your Processes’ Fiori application, there are ‘DEFAULT Role validation’ error messages displayed on main screen.

It is unclear what steps must be followed to get the errors resolved.

1. Open the Fiori Application 'Test Your Processes' in Test Automation Tool.
2. Error messages for DEFAULT role are displayed on the main screen.

There is an issue with ‘DEFAULT’ Role maintained under ‘Maintain Roles’ screen. At the same time, Conditional or Authentication URL is not properly configured (if applicable).

Follow the below mentioned steps for respective error messages:

• Business User credentials of DEFAULT role are invalid.
  1. Check Username and Password maintained for DEFAULT role under ‘Maintain Roles’ screen.
     Try to login to S/4HANA Cloud Quality/Test tenant (using username and password) in incognito mode of your browser and if login is successful, ensure that the same login credentials are maintained for DEFAULT role.
     If required, update the credentials, and validate the DEFAULT role by clicking on ‘Validate’ button.
     1. Click on ‘Maintain Roles’:
        

     2. On ‘Maintain Roles’ screen, click on Edit button for DEFAULT role:
        

     3. Update the username and/or password and click on ‘Validate and Save’ button. 
        

     4. Validation can also be done by clicking on ‘Validate’ button for DEFAULT role.
        

     5. On successful validation, it would display a message toast saying, ‘DEFAULT role validated successfully.’

  2. If the error persists, check Authentication URL maintained under ‘Maintain URL for Authentication’ screen. This is applicable only in case of non-SAP IdP configuration.
     
     

     Maintain the URL (refer ‘Configure Conditional Authentication’ section under help doc to get conditional URL) and click on ‘Save’ button. 
     

     Once saved, go to Maintain Roles screen and validate DEFAULT user by simply clicking on ‘Validate’ button.

• Password of DEFAULT role user has expired

   Update the password of DEFAULT role under ‘Maintain Roles’ screen. This password should be the same password used to login to S/4HANA Cloud Quality/Test tenant.
   In ‘Maintain Roles’ screen, update the password for DEFAULT role and click on ‘Validate and Save’ button.

   
  
   On successful validation, it would display a message toast saying, ‘DEFAULT role validated successfully.’
  
  
• Provided system URL for authentication is currently unavailable OR Provide valid URL for authentication 

  Check the provided conditional URL under ‘Maintain URL for Authentication’ screen. This is applicable only in case of non-SAP IdP configuration.
          

  Update the conditional URL (refer ‘Configure Conditional Authentication’ section under help doc to get conditional URL) and click on ‘Save’ button.
  

  Once above conditional URL is saved, go to Maintain Roles screen and validate DEFAULT user by simply clicking on ‘Validate’ button.
  
     

• Business User of DEFAULT role is locked 

  Check the Business User status using ‘Maintain Business Users’ application (Business Catalog SAP_CORE_BC_IAM_UM required). Select the required user and click on ‘Unlock’ button.      
   
  Once user is unlocked, go to ‘Maintain Roles’ screen and validate the DEFAULT role using ‘Validate’ button.
  
  

• Business User of DEFAULT role is invalid
  
  Check the Business User status using ‘Maintain Business Users’ application (Business Role SAP_BR_ADMINISTRATOR required). Update the validity status of business user.
  In case, the required business user is not found, then update a new business user for DEFAULT role under ‘Maintain Roles’ screen.
  Once business user is updated, click on ‘Validate and Save’ button.
  

• DEFAULT Role validation failed for maintained authentication URL 

  1. Check for user existence in SAP Identity Authentication Service tenant (SAP IAS) and S/4HANA Cloud Quality/Test tenant. Both tenants should have the same username.
  2. Make sure user properties in SAP IAS such as Username, Global User ID are matching with S/4HANA Cloud tenant Fiori application ‘Maintain Business Users’ data.
  3. In SAP IAS, navigate to Applications & Resources -> Select Quality/Test system -> Under Trust tab, click on subject name identifier and validate if Login name is added as fallback option.

          Once done, validate the DEFAULT role using ‘Validate’ functionality on ‘Maintain Roles’ screen.       

• DEFAULT Role validation failed - Invalid authentication URL OR DEFAULT Role validation failed - Missing authentication URL
  

  This is applicable in the scenarios where non-SAP IdP configuration is setup with S/4HANA Cloud system.
  Ensure that a valid conditional URL (refer ‘Configure Conditional Authentication’ section under help doc to get conditional URL) is maintained in the application.

           

  Maintain the URL in below screen and click on ‘Save’: 

         

  Once saved, validate the DEFAULT role using ‘Validate’ functionality on ‘Maintain Roles’ screen.
  
  
  

• DEFAULT role credentials could not be validated 

  Raise a ticket to SAP on Application Component “CA-CTT-S4C”.

  Provided system URL for authentication is currently unavailable OR Provide valid URL for authentication.Business User of DEFAULT role is invalid.DEFAULT Role validation failed for maintained authentication URL.DEFAULT Role validation failed - Invalid authentication URL OR DEFAULT Role validation failed – Missing authentication URL.DEFAULT role credentials could not be validated.
