3391823 - Internal Transfer process initiated from Recruitment is skipping the Review New Hire Data and changing the employee profile - Onboarding/Recruiting

Symptom

When the candidates are initiated as internal hires with a transfer event from Recruitment, the system skip Onboarding and directly updates the information in the Employee Central system.

Environment

  • SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding
  • SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Initiate Onboarding for internal hire from Recruiting
  2. Onboarding process is not created for internal hire. 
  3. Job requisition shows user is moved directly to Hired status, and the new position details are added directly to user's profile. 

Cause

This is a expected behavior. 

Resolution

For internal hires, when the initiate onboarding is done from recruiting, the expected process flow is that the data will be directly updated to EC first. Post the update to EC, the transfer rule will be run which will trigger the Transfer event. In response to the transfer event from EC, a crossboarding activity will be created in the dashboard. I see two major issues mentioned here: Data is updated to EC directly without going through data review steps. This is by design and this is the expected process flow.

Candidate does not go to through Manage Pending Hire since this step is not part of the Internal Hire process. The candidate status is updated from Ready to Hire to Hired.
