3392444 - Tenant DB's HANA audit shows "Disabled" after upgrading to HANA 2.0 SPS07

Symptom

HANA audit log is enabled in tenant DB, however, after upgrading it to HANA 2.0 SPS07, it shows "Disabled" in HANA Studio.

You checked it as below, all of them indicate HANA audit log is already enabled.

  • In OS level, it shows "global_auditing_state = true".
    /usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/global/hdb/custom/config/DB_<NAME>/global.ini
    [auditing configuration]
    global_auditing_state = true

  • HANA audit log is getting generated as expected.
    E.g:

  • It shows "enabled" (Status = "On") from SAP HANA Cockpit.

You tried to enable HANA audit log again for this tenant DB, from HANA Studio, however, it still shows "Disabled".

You even updated HANA Studio to current latest version (e.g 2.3.75), but it still shows "Disabled".

Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.
