3392718 - Cannot arrange Totals at the bottom of a chart in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

Symptom

When using “Arrange Totals” in Chart Properties in the Builder tab, "At the End" option still shows Totals at the top of the chart in Live BW Optimized Story in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC).

Environment

SAP Analytics Cloud (Enterprise) 2023.16.10

 

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Create an Optimized Design Experience story consuming data from a Live BW Model.
  2. Add a “Bar/Column” Chart.
  3. In the Builder, select a dimension.
  4. In the Chart Properties section, find Arrange Totals.
  5. In the drop down list, select "At the End".
    ===> Notice Totals is still at the top of the chart.

Cause

This is the expected behaviour for Live BW datasources. 

Resolution

  • Currently, using the "Arrange Totals" option in Charts to move the position of the Totals when active hierarchical dimensions are enabled isn't expected to move the position of the Totals.
  • This is resolved by the "Arrange Parent Nodes" feature instead.
  • To specify the position of totals for SAP BW data sources when active dimension hierarchies are set in the chart, use the "Arrange Parent Nodes" option instead of the "Arrange Totals" option.
